We
have shared forty nine years together this January 2011. We successfully operated
our own plumbing business in California for
fifteen years called Gerber and Sons. Before that, I was a partner in a
plumbing contracting business while Nancy spent eight years in
customer service with Sears. We have three grown children, and
five granddaughters aged 7 years, 8 years, 11 years, 26 and 29 years
old. And as of February and new great granddaughter!
Over 18 years ago we bought a "vacation home" in Prescott with the
idea of retiring here sometime in the future. However, it was only a
short time before the charm and beauty that makes Prescott one of
America’s best places to live captured our hearts and imagination.
It wasn't until later that I discovered a family tie to
"Preskitt". While doing a family research project, I found out
that my Grandmother was born in Prescott, and was living here with
my Great Grandparents in the late 1800's early 1900's. No wonder
I felt right at home the first trip to "Preskitt"!
Since making Prescott home, we started out by taking an
active role in the community, starting with the Chamber of Commerce.
I served on the Board of Directors, was a member of the
operations committee, the chairman of the Courthouse Lighting
Committee, co-chair with Nancy for Territorial Days.
We are past members of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce
Ambassadors. Both of us had served as officers for the
club. The Ambassadors are the official greeting arm for the Prescott
Chamber of Commerce.
Nancy has also co-chaired a committee and was a member of the now
defunct Face to Face Committee that travels into the valley and
speaks at various service clubs to attract visitors to Prescott. She
was also one of the "cast members" of the "In Your Face Follies", a
skit that is performed throughout the area as a function of the
chamber. Trust me; it's a good thing that one is in the past!
For two years, I was invited by The Yavapai Cemetery Association
to act as Master of Ceremonies for the Memorial Day Services.
Before joining Red Arrow Real Estate in April, 2001, we were consistent Top Producers at Realty 2000, GMAC Real Estate®,
winners of the Medallion Club Award© for 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000,
2001 members of the prestigious Better Homes and Gardens© Summit
Club or 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 2001 and belonged to The Better Homes
and Gardens©, GMAC Real Estate Multi-Million Dollar Club and
Medallion Club.
We have completed the requirements for
The Accredited Buyers Representative Designation® (ABR®)
We are also Graduates of The Real Estate Institute
(GRI®). Nancy has also completed the course for ePro®.
And here's the best part! We have rediscovered the magic of their motorcycle days
after a long 11 year absence. Our riding began back in 1962 and
today, we travel all over Arizona on our Harley Davidson Ultra
Glide.
